Generally the emergency service cleanup required for clean water damage is far less. All you have to do is completely dry out your home. After everything has dried, check for mold. By leaving all windows and doors open, your home will dry much more quickly.

Many times it is easier to replace the diverter stem than to repair it. This really depends on the design of the stem.
Once you have disconnected the tank remove it from your work space. Do a thorough measurement of the remaining pipe for reference when you go to the hardware store. I will be honest with you, you might need to make a few trips back to the store. Once you get the new tank, slide it into place to line up the plumbing.
